‘Save the girl child’ and ‘Laadli’ are some of the social initiatives to wage a war against female foeticide which aims at protecting, safeguarding, supporting, and educating the girl child. Similarly, the IRIA members have also joined the bandwagon and have launched an initiative ‘Raksha’ on October 29, 2017, at Aurangabad as a part of a Continuing Medical Education programme.
‘Raksha’ aims at uplifting the self-esteem of the girl child by educating her and providing her with means to pursue a way and to earn income, so that she is not dependent on the male section of the society for her basic needs and survival.
It’s a saying that ‘a Daughter is not ‘tension’ but is equal to 10 sons’. And acting promptly to it, the Maharashtra State Branch of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (MSBIRIA) has come up with a social initiative — ‘Raksha’ — and has started a week-long campaign around the Roentgen Discovery Day of 2017 to increase awareness on saving a girl child.
IRIA – Rajasthan Chapter has also started a mission of “Raksha Programme”. We invite you all to join this campaign.
